So, sorry this is overdue, but I guess it's better to post late than never, right? In the last few months, I was lucky enough to win two amazing pieces of jewelry by two even more amazing and talented artists. The crazy thing is, the pieces, a bracelet and necklace, look like they should go together! The first design I won was an oxidized sterling silver wire wrapped bracelet by Carol Bradley Designs. I have admired Carol's jewelry for quite some time, and she is definitely a person I look to when I need inspiration.
The second piece of jewelry I won was an oxidized sterling silver wire wrapped chain by Mary Newton Designs. Mary is another metal and wire jewelry artist that I greatly admire. I commented that I loved her handmade silver chains on her blog, and she was thoughtful enough to send me one as my giveaway prize.
What I love most about both designs, besides being beautiful, is that they are techniques I have not tried, and I don't have the skill or patience to try yet. I have no idea how Carol made the wire spun beads, even after close examination, and I definitely don't have the patience to connect all the jump rings and S-links like Mary did! The other bonus is that both pieces look great together.
Please take a minute to check out Carol Bradley Designs Shop (where she sells similar bracelets with the wire spun beads) and Blog, as well as Mary Newton Designs Shop (I especially love her etched metal!) and Blog - tons of inspiration!! And lastly, thank you to both women for having such generous and awesome giveaways!!

Hi Lisa, i have missed your posts welcome back ;) i too admire both of these wire artists as well i also do wire work but not the detailed work as these talented women do yet as the price of sterling is just too much for me at this point, i do use a lot of copper & brass though and a little sterling here and there if i have some special lampwork beads for a bracelet and for my handcrated earrwires thanks for sharing your giveaways and i agree they do look amazing together ttfn L:)
gorgeous, Lisa - how lucky are you! I agree that with you that my patience may not extend to such wonderful wire work. Enjoy the weekend. Vicki :)
Lisa, you are one lucky lady to win 2 beautiful wire work designs, and in sterling silver! They do look fantastic together!
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the highlight! They will look great together. I won't be making more of those in sterling for a while (until the price of silver comes back down). I over-bought in March of last year and that stash is all gone! I'm only using silver for ear wires and bits here and there now.
