I foolishly signed up for several jewelry challenges while our house was for sale, thinking it would probably be on the market for awhile. Of course, our house sold, and we have to move everything out of our house the same week the challenges are due! It is totally worth it to have sold our house though. So, I am going to apologize now if this is half ass or doesn't make much sense...I worked all day, then packed for several hours, finished up my pieces, photographed them, and now I am blogging. I am exhausted! I still have to make the jewelry for another challenge, due Saturday, but I am not sure if I'll get it done in time or not. We plan on being completely out of our house by this weekend, so we'll see. We have not found a new house yet, so we are staying at my in-laws winter house until we do. My studio is packed up and will be stored in a storage pod, except for my beads, wire and essential tools, which go where I go!
Below is a sample of the kit I received from Michelle Mach, the hostess of the challenge. I forgot to take a photo of exactly what I got, but it was very similar to this. I didn't use some of the cool, unique vintage beads, but I look forward to using them in future designs.

I worked on the necklace a few weeks ago, but struggled a bit with my idea. I wanted an owl to sit on the branch, so I decided to do a layered chain look. I like the idea of how the focal hangs, but I think I could work on it a little more (when I have time!) to improve the design a bit.
I also made a pair of fun fall earrings. I had fun playing around with the lucite leaves and vintage beads that I wouldn't normally work with.
Now, join me in checking out everyone else's creative designs!

Wow...too much going on right now in your life! I'm impressed you could get this completed ~ Love your earrings and necklace with the owl! The branch is a perfect fit with it.
Great job! I really love the layered effect of the earrings and they compliment the necklace perfectly.
Great use of the components. I adore the earrings. ;-)
Your stamina is amazing, I'd probably would have woke up this morning with lucite leaves stuck to my face and a kink in my neck! I love these earrings!
i will echo the comment "great earrings" I love how you used those two hole beige beads. They came out awesome!
Such a clever design! I love the way you engineered it! Enjoy the day! Erin
So Pretty! I love your earrings. I had no idea how to handle the little two holed flat beads. I love your solution!
Wow I am amazed that you were able to get this done with packing up your house. You go girl! Your pieces are very pretty, cool idea on the necklace and I really like the earrings.

Your designs are simply fantastic!! I love the owl on the branch and your earring are so yummy - very vintage indeed with their layers - perfect! Best wishes w/the move and I hope you find a house and get settled very soon!
loving the earings!
Beautiful necklace and earrings! I am so impressed that you used those two-hole disc beads . . . they were such a foreign object to me! Congrats on selling your home (not an easy thing to do these days) and best wishes to you as you search for a new place to hang your beads. =D
I simply love the way you perched the owl on the branch!
Love the double tiered necklace! The owl is a cute touch!
Perfect perching of the owl!
(And I know how you feel - crazy month, I'm so exhausted too! My desk is still a hazard zone.)
Both the necklace and the earrings are wonderful! The silver really makes it pop, and the clever join with the owl is just the thing to make the sensuous drape. Love it!
I love how used those 2-hole beads in your beautiful earrings. A perfect accent! The owl sitting on top of the branch is such a cute idea for a necklace. I thought about adding an owl to my branch, but I just couldn't figure out how to do it!
Hope to see you in another challenge!
I like the mixed metals in the necklace, and the earrings are pretty cute too!
I love this. I hadnt considered having an owl sit on TOP of the branch. What a great idea.
Very pretty jewellery! I like the necklace -- great look with all that metal and the owl is so sweet, perched on the branch -- but my fave is definitely the earrings. Very nice layering. Great job!
Hope everything is going well with the move.
What a fabulous pair of earrings! They are fantastic! Really creative use of the components. I love the necklace, too.
Your fall earrings are beautiful. And what a clever way to have the owl sit on the branch! I love the combination of chains, too. Good luck with the move!!!!
Lisa, despite how chaotic life has been for you, this challenge came together wonderfully! I just love the ides of the owl on the branch...
I'm impressed that you managed to create such beautiful designs in the midst of moving house...love the earrings especially.
Both of your designs are GREAT! I love the way you made it look like the owl is on the limb with the double strand. As well, wiring on the filigree was pretty cool too! Awesome job!
The necklace with the owl is just so special and beautiful! :)
The earrings are really great! I love your blog :-)
